Critical Reflection Questions

 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent in social group issues?

For my film I did a Nike commercial which can go with many other themes of commercials since it's a sport branded product such as Gatorade adidas and under amor. These relate to mine because they are all brands that make sport items and clothing. I used close up angles and wide shot angles in my commercial to show my surroundings and to represent the Nike brand. These brands compete for who is better and for people to buy them this is why they would go against the other brands I did it outside because since it's a sports commercial its best to do it outside. Not all sports commercials are outside but I did mine out there since i was representing Nike cleats.

2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

I think this commercial could be played at any time of the day whether it be on tv or YouTube because it is a commercial everyone can watch and enjoy. But I also think it would be best to put this commercial mostly after 3 because that's when most people out of work and teens are out of school. This is will make more people watch people watch it since they won't be as busy. Since more people will be watching it, it will make them buy it more. Not only will this commercial have a story connected to it but because of that people will be more interested in it.

3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

This was the first ever commercial I've done and the first filming project too. Before filming this I felt nervous about it since this was my first film but, I think I didn't do that bad. I felt accomplished finishing this film and now I won't be as nervous with my next film. I wasn't really familiar to much with editing either so my edits weren't as good as I wanted them to be but I learned that the editing software I was using wasn't the best and I know will start to find a new one. For my first editing film I think I didn't do bad I feel good with what I did for my first time and I will keep improving.

4. How did you integrate technologies-software, hardware and online-in this project?

At the beginning of this film, I always planning on using iMovie since I have a Mac but I changed my mind. I changed my mind because my friend that helped me film recommended be an editing software that he said was easier to use then iMovie. He recommended me cute cut and I think I should've just used iMovie because I didn't really like cute cut it was simple but I didn't really like it I thought it was going to be better. I had to use google also because since I wasn't familiar with that editing software didn't know how to extract the commercial from cute cut and post it on YouTube in order to embed it.
