Editing Blog

To start off for the editing software I was planning on using iMovie since I have a Mac but, my friend that helped me film which was the goalkeeper said there was an easier editing software to use since I'm only a beginner. He recommended me cute cut to edit my commercial. I am still trying to figure out which would be the best editing software because right now I have the free version of cute cut because the actual pro version is 30 dollars. As of right now I am only working with the free editing software's, but I think I am going to buy one since those are probably better. I know I am going to be in this class for a while and we are going to edit a lot so I think that would be a good investment also, not only for this class but in the future too. For some reason I couldn't access the videos that I took from my photos to uploaded them into cute cut, I don't know what happened there because my phone is connected to my computer. I just emailed them to myself from my phone and saved them onto the desktop. When I was going to start editing, I got really scared because it wasn't letting me use iMovie nor download anything in the app store which is where you would download cute cut. I figured out that I needed to update the computer and it work even though the update took a million years, but I waited. Also, my WIFI isn't the best so there's another down fault to loading things up. I realized how I imagined my editing was going to be and it's not what's is going on. Cute cut and all of these free programs don't give you too much to edit, all you do is cut things and speed things up there's not too many options. This is another reason why I think buying an editing software is important for this class. So, in my storyboard I mentioned that I wanted to do this nice looking edit where I grab the cleat zoom it in and I tell all the parts of the cleat and what they are meant for in that one edit. So far, I am done editing everything, but I am still trying to figure out how to edit that one part I hope I can figure it out. Other than that, one part everything else is done there isn't much I can do with this software I think I could've chosen a better editing software then what my friend recommended me. In my head I was thinking since I didn't really get the filming right, which was not having a net, the weather, things like that I was going to do some really nice edits to make up for that, but I don't think it turned out how I wanted it but also, I don't think it's that bad either. I honestly really enjoyed editing my film probably more than filming it itself. I think the editing is better and more exciting than the filming in my option. I think I am going to start doing more research about editing and how to improve also, watching videos so I can become better at it. Overall, I hope to learn more about editing and checking out different editing software's which one I like the most.
